Hello Everyone,
Wrestling season is now underway. We are very excited with the turn out this year. With that being said we have a lot of new wrestlers. This letter is to help inform you about the season. Attached is a calendar/schedule of practices and meets for December.
Fees
The week before Thanksgiving break will be a trial run for your child. This way your child can decide if he/ she wants to wrestle this year. This year’s fees are $55.00.

Jewelry
NO JEWERLY IS TO BE WORN for practices and/or matches.
Singlet
We require singlets to be worn at the meets in order to wrestle. The reason for the singlet is safety. Now wrestlers can either wear their own or we have some that you can rent. To rent a singlet it is an additional $40.00 rental fee (LIMITED QUANTITIES). You can also buy your own during the season. Please return rented singlets at the end of the year. We purchased each one for $60 and we are asking only just a $40 deposit, but in the past people have kept them.
Communication
We have multiple ways to communicate with you. We have your phone numbers and emails. (If we don’t make sure you get that to us) Another means of communication is through our Facebook page called “Northwestern Youth Wrestling- NYWO”. The Facebook page will have information on it the fastest. The best way to contact Coach Lapota or Coach Castorena is through texting.
Background Check
As far as Background Checks, any parent volunteering (at meets) that will have contact with the wrestlers needs a background check done. If you want to volunteer please see CC and she will let you know if you need one. Any Questions ask Coach Boruff, Coach Castorena.
Volunteers
Meets are exciting, fun, and great memories for the kids! That being said, we need help making that happen! CC will have a signup sheet the Monday after Thanksgiving. As for new parents, don’t be shy. There will be veteran parents who are more than happy to help guide you. This year we have made a few changes with our volunteer jobs to help things go smooth. We like to think of ourselves as a family here. The first meet is crazy, but that is the test run for the rest of the year. Any questions ask the Coaches or any den mom.
Parents & Practices
Preschool-1st Grade (Junior Division)
** Limit one parent/guardian in the room, per child, during practice for Pre-K - 2nd Grade. Must be willing to help.**
2nd Grade to 4th Grade (Senior Division)
** Limit one parent/guardian in the room, per child, but prefer "NO PARENTS" with this group.**
Friendship Meets
Throughout the season we will be hosting or traveling to other schools for meets. You will have a calendar with the schedule of meets and the times Coach Boruff and Coach Castorena would like you to be there. Wrestlers at these meets are paired by number of variables (grade/age, experience, and weight). With that being said not every wrestler is guaranteed a match. Although, we will do our best.

This is an exciting time for the little wrestlers and you as parents. With every practice and meet you will see your wrestler grow. This is a lot of information at one time. So at any point, ask if you have any questions. Our goal is for the wrestlers to learn and have fun! So let us have a great season! Go Tigers!
